Intertek Life Sciences is a Global Business Line of Intertek Group which continues its expansion by permanently developing and strengthening its services to its international customer base. The Laboratories of Basel - Switzerland are part of the global laboratory network of Intertek and provide a wide range of services across the pharmaceutical value chains, from R&D to production. The services include high level Analytical Testing Services such as trace analysis, structure elucidation or surface & nano-analytics, extractable & leacheables as well as consultancy. The laboratories are working under the quality standards of ISO 9001, GLP and GMP. Some areas are operating under ISO 17025.

**Manager Global Business Development Chemicals & Pharma (M/F/d)**:
**Role & Responsibility**
- Drive all aspects of sales of analytical services and projects with focus on extractables & leachables studies, bio-compatibility (ISO10993-18), food contact material notification, method development, validation, impurity analysis and QC testing
- Articulate the organization’s value proposition as an Total Quality Assurance provider and effectively position the company as the solutions supplier of choice
- Develope and maintain strong client relationships with decision makers in major clients ensuring proposed solutions will meet business needs
- Proactively identify outsourcing decision makers in assigned and/or targeted accounts
- Present high quality, professional consulting and support to global customers
- Develop creative strategies to increase market share with new and existing customers
- Represent the business at industry and discipline conferences, trade fairs and networking events
- Identify new service opportunities beyond current scope of offerings
- Develop and implement sales, marketing and communication strategies to grow the business and offer new services across geographies
- Monitor analytical services market, regulations and customer activities
**Required background and skills**
- Higher scientific degree, preferably in chemistry or related disciplines
- Experience in the analytical business, preferably extractables-leachables, bio-compatibility or food contact material notification
- Sales experience in the field of chemical
- or pharmaceutical serives ideally with a strong exisiting customer network
- Excellent communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
- Interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from technical staff to senior management
- Project management skills to understand and follow through on client projects
- Translate complex problems into unique solutions to meet the clients needs
- Large degree of initiative and creativity
- Manage contract proposals, definition of project scope, execution, coordination and reporting
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Fluent written and spoken English & German, additional languages are an asset
- Willingness to travel ca. 30-50% globally at peak times
