Plant Quality Manager

You ensure food safety and quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses and problems in the department. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

**How you will contribute**

You will ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are met. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for recruitment and structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

- Advanced Expertise in HACCP, Food Safety, Microbiology, GMP, GLP from the food industry
- People Lead and coach with advanced communication skills
- Advanced Project management and managing multiple priorities
- Communicating effectively and leading cross-functional teams
- Advanced statistical processes and problem-solving techniques
- Working with customers, suppliers and other stake holders on quality related issues and to ensure compliance to our policies and procedures
- Digital Savvy (including SAP, statistical process)
- Reliable, unsolicited, committed, self-reliant, ability to keep an overview in hectic situations
- Ability to make decisions independently and to enforce them, strong coordinating skills

**More about this role**

**Main tasks**:

- Ensure Food Safety & Quality & responsible for meeting Quality Target of Bern factory
- Maintain & Leading all Quality related certifications/ internal and external audits
- Manage Budget of Bern Quality Team
- Lead and manage the Laboratory, in order to meet the required targets
- Responsible for internal guidelines implementation to ensure that sampling plans and analytical methods are observed
- Responsible that the infrastructure/laboratory equipment meets the legal requirements and that these devices are regularly maintained and monitored
- Responsible for GMP, Hygiene and microbiological tests
- Managing the Hold & Release and CAPA processes
- Leading Quality Pillar within IL6S framework
- Coaching and growing the team capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards of Food Safety and Quality
- Responsible for individual leadership and development as well as for team spirit
- Regularly conducts feedback interviews and performance feedback (qualification) with employees

**What extra ingredients you will bring**:

- 6-8 years experiences in Quality (preferable within supply chain manufacturing) with strong understnading in Quality, Food Safety and Laboratory operations
- Fluent in both spoken und written German and English preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Knowhow and Expertise
- Quality SAP knowledge
