**Position Summary**

As a Food Safety Microbiology Expert, you will drive and execute Global Operational food safety microbiology, hygiene, and associated prerequisite programs, while providing technical expertise and support in food safety activities. You will also assist in leading a team of scientific experts to support global Operations.

**A Day in the Life of a Food Safety Microbiology Expert**
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements at national and international levels
- Identify and address opportunities and threats through effective issue management
- Develop clear positions and policies on relevant food safety topics
- Manage crises and respond to issues related to food safety microbiology and allergens
- Drive knowledge acquisition, risk prediction, assessment, and mitigation in food safety
- Engage with key stakeholders and participate in discussions with governmental authorities, trade associations, and academic bodies
- Promote microbiological food safety and quality awareness and best practices across the company
- Develop and mentor team members, and actively participate in internal committees including R&D projects supporting risk management

**What will make you successful**
- PhD level University graduate or equivalent in food safety microbiology or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in an Operational or R&D role with a focus on food safety microbiology
- Experience in different factory, market, category, R&D positions, or another corporate environment
- Demonstrated capability to lead a group of experienced professionals
- Management exposure across several functions
- Proven track record of delivering results through cross-functional teams and initiatives
- Ability to derive and formulate strategic direction, policy, and standards in food safety microbiology
- Proven record of effective communication with industry, academic, and regulatory peers
