Test Lab Manager E-bikes

We are seeking a seasoned leader of test engineering to join our Turbo e-bike Quality team and elevate our electronics and mechatronics test capability to the next level. We are building an entirely new class of in-house test capabilities to support our rapid growth in the e-bike segment and are looking for the right leader to drive this essential work. In this role, you will lead the build out of our next generation of testing facilities, strategies, and team - all to ensure that our Turbo bikes deliver the highest performance and reliability to our riders across all experiences.

You will use real-world ride data along with data acquisition tools to understand the product use envelope and devise laboratory methods to simulate these conditions in a repeatable, controlled environment. You will work in close partnership with our R&D teams to assess and optimize product performance, and our Quality engineers to execute smoke testing as well as full validation testing. You and your team will devise novel test methods, devices, and protocols based on technical and business needs of the team.

The home base of this role will be our Turbo Innovation Center in **Cham, Switzerland.** Start date is** as soon as possible **or **upon agreement.**

**How you will make a difference**
- Test Lab Build Out
- Establish facility requirements, layout, and capital plans to build a world-class ebike component test facility (motors, batteries, wiring harnesses, complete systems).
- Work with vendors to specify, plan, procure, and commission test equipment
- Set capital and operating budgets, and manage build-out and operations within targets
- Test Process and Method Development
- In partnership with other Engineering leaders in the Turbo team, build an overarching strategy for lab capabilities, workflows, and tools to service the Turbo business.
- In partnership with Quality engineering and R&D teams, lead the team to establish test protocols and success critiera
- Benchmark with external partners across industry, participate in test engineering forums and industry groups to ensure our capabilities are state of the art.
- Establish data management and analysis strategies in partnership with Specialized Global Testing team
- Lab Operational Leadership
- Collaborate with product team leaders to prioritize and track progress of test team deliverables
- Balance resources to support urgent investigations related to safety and key rider issues
- Ensure a high level of equipment efficiency through proactive maintenance, teammate training, 5S workspace, etc.
- Create visibility of lab priorities and progress to the organization
- Team and Talent Development

- Mentor and collaborate with peers and other leaders in the Turbo product team

**What you need to win**
- Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering - or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years’ work experience, with 5+ years in test execution or development, and 5+ years of people management experience
- Test leadership with mechatronic and electromechanical systems - automotive, aerospace, robotics experience preferred
- Significant experience developing and overseeing development of novel test methods based on data acquisition. Experience building and operating data acquisition systems is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication in English. Fluency in German is a plus.

- Ready to work in an innovative and fast-paced environment for the best bike brand in the world.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English, and at least one additional of either Chinese or German.
- Passion for cycling, ebikes, or outdoor active lifestyle.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
