The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low
- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 950 people from 80 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions.

Research-IT (R-IT) is an interdisciplinary team within the Swiss TPH that provides operational guidance, expertise, and support to facilitate effective data management, analysis, and visualization for researchers. By acting as an interface between the two domains Research and Informatics, R-IT helps ensure seamless communication and collaboration among scientists, IT professionals, and other stakeholders involved in the research process.

The Research-IT group is currently looking for a **Internship in Information Science / Management (50-100%)**.

**Your position**
- Assistance in the conception, planning and implementation of Research-IT services, tools and interfaces, including e.g. the creation of presentations, intranet content and information material
- Develop a good understanding of business and IT research processes in a global health context
- Support with the conceptualization and implementation of Knowledge Management solutions in the intranet
- Liaise with researchers and communication teams

**Your profile**
- University degree in technological or natural sciences with strong interest in information science, strategic communication and/or knowledge management
- Experience or knowledge of the basics of research informatics
- A good basic understanding of IT, experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Typo3) is a big plus but not required
- Experience with R or Python is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills, problem-solving skills and enthusiasm to work in an international, multi-disciplinary setting
- Languages: English (fluent in written and spoken)
