**Head of Finance, European Partner Markets (EPM)**

**About the role**

The Head of Finance, European Partner Markets (EPM), will be a key business partner to the Head of EPM (and other key stakeholders). As a member of the Management Team and together with the cross functional leadership team, the incumbent will play an important role driving the strategy of the organization and maximizing value creation.

The Head of Finance, EPM will be a strategic and participative manager with a hands-on mentality and will lead and develop an internal team responsible for all elements of finance including business planning, accounting and internal controls.

This position will report jointly to the Head of EPM and the Head of ECP Finance and CE&O.

**What you´ll do**
- Business Partnering
- As member of the Management Team, act as trusted advisor and provide value-added counsel and strategic guidance to assist in decision making
- Provide insightful recommendations on business opportunities through in depth in market performance analysis
- Support / Approve access programs initiatives with a critical thinking approach to maximize opportunities and financial returns
- Act as an interface between Biogen and Distributors in providing support for operational excellence
- Manage supplies to the Distributors in line with the local demand
- Serve as key financial resource in negotiations with Distributors in various markets
- Positively influence stakeholders through a deep understanding of operational objectives, key performance measures and leading practices
- Lead in-depth monthly and quarterly financial reviews and highlights key issues for local and regional management
- Forecasting & Business Planning
- Responsible for forecasting short term, budget and long term P&L for the markets, including:

- Coordinating cross functional calendar and activities
- Providing guidance and support to Distributors
- Monitoring/reporting both In Market and Ex Biogen business performance against budgets/forecasts and understand/identify reasons for variances
- Identifying/communicating internal and external risk factors to meeting goals and objectives
- Advising the Distributor management team on any actions required
- Preparing decision support analysis related to distributor profitability, business structure, and launch decisions
- Effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders from the Distributor region and corporate in a timely manner
- Responsible for directly managing Fees and Services
- Internal resources allocation and monitoring
- Accounting & Statutory Activities
- Oversee / collaborate on all accounting, planning, tax and corporate governance activities with overall responsibility of executing targets, analyzing performance, proposing corrective actions, overcoming barriers, actively managing risk-benefit of key initiatives and ultimately delivering business results
- Ensure the adequate design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Work closely with the regional International Controller and regional Financial Shared Services on accounting issues that affect the markets
- Support Internal Audit and Compliance teams with their initiatives in the region
- Pricing
- Review/approve Provisional Supply Prices, Floor prices & periodic reconciliations
- Support Value and Access and EPM Head in negotiations regarding pricing
- Prepare and maintain pricing approvals following PAF process
- Leadership
- Coach/develop finance team, set performance goals and provide feedback at regular intervals
- Promote open communication and foster cross functional teamwork
- Business Process Analysis and Improvement
- Implement program of continuous improvement related to finance processes with the goal of providing accurate information in the most efficient manner possible

You are an experienced finance professional used to interact with and to influence strategic decision making of senior stakeholders. Based on your international background and your understanding of the pharma / biotech industry you know how to effectively collaborate in a diverse and dynamic multi-country distributor environment, making sure to meet your goals while constantly challenging the status quo. Your strategic and entrepreunerial mindset, combined with your strong finance & business acumen, positions you to be the trusted advisor for your internal/external stakeholders and allows you to focus on the mid to long-term picture while still being able to analyze and communicate operational details. Being part of the regional leadership team, you are a key contributor to the future setup and success of the organization
