Role Summary

The Head Portfolio Strategy & Management (PSM) has a key organizational role to partner with the Chief Development Officer leading the strategic governance, oversight, and optimization of Autolus’ development portfolio across all disease areas and stages. The Head PSM establishes and manages portfolio governance processes, including executive, board-level and IR reporting, and drives portfolio strategy, prioritization, and expansion planning in partnership with the development program teams, governed by the portfolio review team (PRT). The Head PSM delivers program based financial and risk assessments to allow for a value maximizing resource allocation in alignment with the overall enterprise goals. Additionally, the role ensures external focus and leverages broad insights to inform decisions. The Head PSM implements tools and systems that foster operational excellence, while also serving as a critical cross-functional liaison to ensure aligned and efficient execution.

Key Responsibilities

**Governance**
- Establishes and leads the development portfolio management process and provides all relevant documents to the PRT and implements prioritization decisions
- Leads regular portfolio meetings (e.g. quarterly) with the executive team providing portfolio status updates including but not limited to financial updates, risk reviews, changes in the scientific and competitive environment.
- Communicates portfolio insights and provides recommendations to the executive leadership and the board, as well as supporting IR activities positioning Autolus as highly innovative, fully integrated next gen. CAR-T company.

**Portfolio Strategy Development and Oversight**
- Develops, oversees and maintains an integrated view of the clinical development portfolio across all products, disease areas and development stages
- Ensures external focus to bring the outside-in view to key strategic decisions, i.e. participates in or holds advisory board meetings to validate clinical portfolio strategies and prioritizations
- Provides strategic guidance for portfolio prioritization and portfolio expansion and runs scenario modeling and trade-off analyses to support strategic decisions

**Resource Allocation & Risk Management**
- Provides and maintains financial and risk assessments for all development projects in close cross functional collaboration to support project prioritization, optimal resource allocation and portfolio value maximization in line with the overall enterprise strategy
- Monitors project interdependencies and proactively manage risks across the portfolio

**Informs value based portfolio decisions**
- Combines insights generated by the commercial team, financial cost assumptions and technical and regulatory success factors to inform value based portfolio decisions for the development portfolio
- Liaises with the commercial, finance, product delivery and development teams to obtain the most current information regarding future development programs and share the most current status on future development programs

**Operational Excellence**
- Implements portfolio management tools, systems, and best practices to improve visibility and decision-making
- Drives continuous improvement in portfolio operations, reporting, and forecasting

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Serve as a key liaison between project teams, senior leadership, finance, regulatory, commercial, IR and external partners
- Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to optimize program execution
