Operations and Events Uzh Student Assistant

The Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) is an academic research and teaching institution at the University of Zurich. We work at the intersection of research, wealth owners, and investment professionals to generate knowledge and mobilize capital toward sustainable development and growth. Also called impact.

Located at the Department of Banking and Finance at University of Zurich, we are a spin-off from a related research and training program at the Initiative for Responsible Investment (IRI) at Harvard Kennedy School and the former Center for Microfinance at the University of Zurich. We are deeply connected with the research, practitioner, and network community in the global impact space (for example, World Economic Forum, MIT, Oxford University, The ImPact, toniic, Co-Impact) and collaborate in the form of join events, campaigns, and practitioner research.

As our Student Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks connected to the internal operations and events of the CSP. Your tasks will include event management support, team culture-related tasks, data entry and CRM management, finance administration, and more.

Tasks

You will work closely with the Operations Team on the day-to-day activities of the CSP. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Event-management for trainings, including tasks before, during, and after the event. Representative tasks include: booking venues and hotels, registering and communicating with participants, acting as the coordination point for speakers, arranging print-outs, IT coordination, being onsite during events for logistics support (e.g., liaising with catering providers, distributing handouts, IT set-up), tracking revenues and expenses, and sending swag to participants.
- Event-management for internal team events, including booking venues and catering, coordinating with the team, and seeking and coordinating with external experts to run workshops.
- CRM management, including entering contacts and administering projects in the system.
- Financial administration, including creating invoices, tracking revenues and expenses, entering and reviewing external and internal expenses, and more.
- Contract administration, including working with the internal team and the Legal team on developing, reviewing, and finalizing contracts.
- Various other, but related, ad-hoc requests as they come up.

**Requirements**:

- A student currently enrolled at the University of Zurich, with work permission in Switzerland.
- A student who could dedicate at least 1 year to working with the CSP is preferred.
- Skills in Microsoft Office, G-suite and Zoom. Familiarity with other online communication and productivity software (e.g. Zoho, Asana) would be a plus.
- Very good communication skills (written and oral) in English. While not required, German is a plus.
- Very high attention to detail and highest standards of work quality.
- Trustworthiness in handling confidential data.
- Ability to coordinate multiple parallel workflows and projects in a very dynamic work environment.
- High motivation and commitment to work together in a dynamic team.
- Drive to be proactive and independent in your work, whilst taking direction from team members.
