**MARPRO, acting on behalf of our Swiss representative, has been granted a full mandate to seek a highly skilled Data Scientist for a Freight Trading division in Nyon, Switzerland.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Data Analysis: Conduct thorough exploratory data analysis, data cleaning, and preprocessing to reveal patterns, trends, and insights from substantial amounts of structured and unstructured data pertaining to commodities markets.
- Model Development: Create and deploy predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical methodologies to analyze commodity market trends, price movements, and supply-demand dynamics.
- Algorithmic Trading: Collaborate with traders and quantitative analysts to design and implement algorithmic trading strategies, perform backtesting and model optimization, and automate trading processes.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from diverse sources, including market data feeds, news feeds, and internal databases, to provide real-time insights and support decision-making processes.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and project reports, to ensure transparency and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

**Requirements**:

- Academic Qualifications: Possession of a relevant academic degree, such as an M.Sc. or Ph.D., in Applied Mathematics, Computer/Data Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Dataset Management: Proficiency in building and maintaining high-quality datasets.
- Programming Skills: Strong programming skills, particularly in Python. Familiarity with other programming languages is considered advantageous.
- Effective Communication: Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Problem-solving Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a profound understanding of statistics and mathematical modeling.
