**Non-Life Reserving Actuary**: New Reinsurance Company Ltd. (NewRe) is a Swiss reinsurer, founded in Zurich in 1926. In 1988, NewRe became part of Munich Re Group. What makes NewRe a preferred reinsurer is our determination to find appropriate reinsurance solutions for our clients, coupled with thorough market know-how and swift response times. **Place of work**: Zürich **Your responsibilities**: - Assist the Appointed Actuary in assessing liabilities for the entire NewRe Non-Life portfolio (standard, customized and insurance solutions contracts) for both IFRS and Local GAAP - Support the quarterly Non-Life reserving discussions (Reserving Committee meeting with a focus on changes in liabilities and any corresponding financial impact; feedback to UW on business performance) - Provide NewRe and Munich Re group functions with regular and ad-hoc reporting (quality assurance) - Ensure Non-Life reserving takes place within a well-controlled risk environment and support the annual Non-Life reserving audits (internal and external) - Cooperate and exchange with NewRe and Munich Re group functions (Central Reserving, Accounting, Underwriting, Pricing, Risk Management ) as appropriate - Assist the Appointed Actuary in his regulatory tasks related to Non-Life (e.g. the AA Actuarial Report, Fluctuation Reserve analysis, FINMA discussions, onboarding of new treaties, segmentation and patterns, profitability analysis, SII Pillar 3 quality assurance) - Play a central role in the implementation of IFRS17 at NewRe with respect to Non-Life Liabilities - Support the AA and reserving team in global projects, as they arise Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role. **Your profile**: - University degree in mathematics or equivalent (quantitative field) - At least 2 years’ experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry - Proficient user of MS Office, especially Excel (Queries & Connections, VBA skills) - Good reporting and analytical skills - Knowledge of Insurance Technical Accounting (P&L, Balance Sheet) - Knowledge of the Accounting standard (Swiss CO, IFRS4, IFRS17) and of Statistical methods would be an asset - Knowledge of Power BI would be a plus - Good analytical thinker with good organisational skills - Pragmatist and good team player with a "can do” attitude - Excellent command of English (German, French or Spanish desirable) **Our common benefits**: At NewRe we embrace a flexible hybrid working model appreciating its positive impact on our achievements and wellbeing, while acknowledging the vital role of social interaction.
