Digital Development Partnerships Director

Grounded on our mission to “
**_empower every person and every organization in the world to achieve more_**” Microsoft launched in 2017, under Microsoft Philanthropies, the Tech for Social Impact (TSI) with the aim to accelerate digital transformation across the nonprofit and IGO sectors, so they can have a greater impact on the world’s most critical social issues.

Aligned with this mission and having SDG progression at the core of our work, the UN and International Organizations have since early stages taken a central place in TSI strategy, counting with a specific team dedicated to the digital transformation of this sector.

On these initial years the core of the work has been centered on the empowerment of UN and IGO organizations to better leverage technology in the accomplishment of their mission, focusing in areas like Modern Workplace, Security and Information Protection, Core Infrastructure Cloud Migration and Core Business App development.

With the consolidation of our Digital Transformation work with UN and IGOs organizations themselves and the close strategic relationship established with these organizations, we believe it’s now time to expand the TSI work to focus on vulnerable populations impact through Digital Development partnerships with UN and International Development Organizations, centered on the use of Technology to solve big societal challenges and advance SDG impact in 5 key priority areas:

- Education
- Public Health and Proximity Care
- Justice
- Government
- Justice

Being part of the TSI IGO Team, the Digital Development Partnerships Director will be responsible for leading the Digital Development Strategy for TSI and for the creation and delivery of key strategic projects and results that translate into significant SGD impact on the selected areas of Health, Justice, Government Services, Justice and Climate Action, while also building the foundations for a growing Social Impact business with the beneficiary Member States Public Sector.

The role has therefore two main accountabilities:

- Successful creation and delivery of Digital Development lighthouse Programs/Projects with significant and demonstrated societal impact to the developing world and to the SDG Agenda;
- Development of a new Social Impact Business pipeline with the beneficiary developing countries that contributes to the acceleration of the local Digital Investment and the corresponding Digital Economy growth.

Another key fundamental element of the Digital development strategy has do to with the impact to the broader Microsoft value creation. It0’s therefore fundamental for the Digital Development Partnerships Director to keep a close connection and alignment with the MSP Skills for Employability Team, UN Affairs Team, US Affairs Team, EU Gov Affairs Team, ATO Office, Sustainability Team and TCR Air Band, making sure these strategic Digital Development Partnerships engagements are fully leveraged not just an opportunity to advance Digital Transformation goals, but also to create broader shared value for all these teams, namely:

- Unique opportunities for broader holistic digital development partnerships with MSP that combine Digital Inclusion and Digital Transformation for Social Impact.
- Diplomacy, Policy and Political Capital outcomes with UN, US Gov and EU Gov Affairs Teams.
- Multiplier and amplifier effect for the ATO Office converging these partnership with the broader MCAPS Africa Strategy;
- Lighthouse wins for the cloud for Sustainability with Developing Countries, helping also to create evidence based policy cases for the broader climate agenda.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute the Digital Development Partnerships Strategy focusing both on Digital Societal Impact and Social Impact Business Growth.
- Lead the establishment of and new affordability framework for Digital Development and the corresponding internal set-up with Legal, BD and Finance teams.
- Lead the engagement with International development Organizations and with Developing countries to land the Digital Development Partnerships Lighthouse Engagements (5 initiated in year 1) that translate the full execution of our strategy;
- Build a healthy and significant pipeline ($100M+ in 5 Years) of opportunities for Social Impact business with developing countries Public Sector in the areas of Health, Education, Government Services, Justice and Environmental Sustainability funded and supported by International Organizations

**Complementary Activity**
- Keep an intense agenda and RoB with all external stakeholders (UN, IGOs, Developing Countries Representatives) and internal stakeholders (MSP, UN Affairs, US Gov Affairs, EU Gov Affairs, MEA Gov Affairs, ATO Office) to advance the plan in close orchestration with all relevant involved parts.
