**BACKGROUND**:
OBU EUCAN is a key contributor to the continued and future growth of our Oncology business at AstraZeneca. We seek dedicated commercial leadership for our franchises across functions and markets, maximizing the regional potential of our leading Oncology portfolio, delivering commercial excellence in close collaboration with a wide variety of in
- and external partners.

AZ has been a pioneer in the use of companion diagnostics to support use of precision medicines in oncology. We continue to invest in precision medicine strategies with over thirty development projects that will deliver potential launches in the next 5 years using novel biomarker strategies as a central part of their development plan.

**THE ROLE**:
Lead the medical-scientific strategy of the therapeutic area, contributing to the clinical development of products and managing the team, to achieve leadership objectives with a clear focus on patients.

**YOUR MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS**:
**Leadership, Team Management and People Development (30%)**
- Build, organize and animate a medical oncology team of excellence to ensure the success of the Therapeutic Area portfolio in the context of the new go to market model
- Building and creating a culture of development and fostering an adequate motivation and inclusive working atmosphere
- Supervise Medical affairs Managers and MSLs team ensuring integrated and coordinated activities
- Lead team performance, managing and developing tools (activity dashboards, performance reviews, coaching, feedback)
- Support team development, focusing on the consolidation of its strengths and the strengthening of improvement areas, ensure implementation of Individual Development Plan, develop skills and scientific leadership of the team
- Support talent management
- Member of country Medical Leadership Team
- Manage TA specific alliances with other pharmaceutical companies
- Member of EUCAN regional TA Leadership Network

**Strategic & Operational Excellence (30%)**
- Define, lead and implement comprehensive and innovative National and Regional Medical Strategy and Plans for the Therapeutic Area portfolio in alignment with global strategy. Coordinate the development and execution of country Medical Plans, ensuring their impactful implementation of evidence and medical confidence activities
- Design and validate objectives, plans and budgets of areas under responsibility.
- Provide disease area scientific expertise and medical excellence
- Analyze products in development or existing in the portfolio, identifying their potential for patients (new indications, etc.) and the advantages for the company
