Product Manager, Wear App Development Tools

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in product delivery with cross-functional teams and stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

- Ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
- Solid communication and presentation skills (writing PRDs and strategy documents, building and delivering presentations, including to leadership, press, and partners).

The Wear App Platform and Ecosystem team is building a thriving catalog of first-party and third-party apps for Wear-based smartwatches. We are responsible for the Wear developer API, tools and documentation and for the app ecosystem, driving a wide-ranging set of collaborations with major internal and external app developers to create apps for the watch. The team's goal is to make Wear the best platform for wearable app development, and ensure our end users have the best available selection of wearable apps.

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish a clear vision, strategy and roadmap for Wear developer tools, with a particular emphasis on driving app quality.
- Identify and drive necessary product improvements across diverse teams, product areas and the technical stack from the Wear platform all the way up through the tool chain (Android Studio) to the Google Play store and ultimately the end user experience.
- Improve the developer experience by introducing helpful new functionality and eliminating unnecessary friction.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, Program Management, Release teams, and other functions.
- Develop expertise in metrics across Wear and other systems, gathering, improving and sharing data and metrics to ensure high quality decision making and impact for Wear as a developer platform, its developers, and users.
