General Description:
The Head for Growth Initiatives and Partnering will serve as the Senior Representative of the New Market (NM) Development organization.

In this role, he/she will be the primary point of contact for requests coming from the corporate BeiGene Business Development department for review of new assets, as well as initial requests from external companies and/or local institutions for cooperation in the NM territories.

He/she will organize a cross-functional team and lead due diligence activities to assess acquisition target’s suitability for the New Markets.

In this role the individual will propose to the New Markets Leadership Team and to BeiGene Senior Management potential business collaborations, joint ventures and strategic investments to serve the needs of the territories in the New Markets.

Will also recommend the strategy moving forward for BeiGene in entering into new territories.

Assessment of Acquisition Targets for New Market Territories

In this role, the individual will shape and drive the execution of our strategy for growth in the New Markets.

He/she will lead the evaluation of opportunities of BD&L proposed by the central BD and Business Transformation teams and, at the same time, and recommend opportunities for growth specifically tailored for the New Market Development territories (LATAM, MENA, Africa, Turkey, Russia, but not only)

Accountabilities include
- Work closely with the Head of NM Development, Head of NM Commercial, and Head of NM Strategy and Operations to identify strategic opportunities to support market expansion, including the identification of the most suitable business model for each market
- Support all aspects of commercial assessments and business case development for each new potential partner market
- Engage with potential partners and their organisations to drive initiatives
- Prioritise and manage potential opportunities, molecules, partnerships, to accelerate growth within the current New Markets business model
- Lead the new partners selection process, from identification, due diligence, contracting to implementation
- Manage external vendors and execute projects on time and within budget
- Manage presentations/meetings to share insights on a regular basis
- Build strong relationships with internal and external experts
- Identify continuous process improvement opportunities
- Identify incremental organizational resource needs - staff, budget, and systems
- Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
- Support budget planning and management
- Be accountable for compliant business practices

Essential Functions of the job:

- Minimum 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience both in medical and commercial roles at a global level.
- Proven track record in the field of Strategy development
- Has demonstrated leadership in managing external partners
- Experience in dealing with uncertainty
- Experience in working in matrix organizations

- Strong financial and commercial acumen with thorough understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to develop appropriate SG&A investment and top-line sales forecasts that generate long-term value

- Outstanding partnering skills and the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and drive commercial decisions in a highly matrixed organization to accomplish business goals
