**Context**:
Project Context and Scope

The Graphic Designer Consultant will focus on supporting the timely development and

production of a series of infographics, reports, social media cards and short videos related to

IOM’s crisis response to Afghanistan, Ukraine and the It Takes A Community Campaign”

(ITAC). ITAC is an ongoing global campaign whose aim is to balance the public narrative about

migration and migrants worldwide, with a view towards fostering inclusive societies, supporting

diversity, and contributing to sustainable development and innovation.

Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing:
The Media and Communications Division (MCD) of IOM is comprised of experienced

communications professionals based in Geneva as well as various regional offices. The team

provides advice and support on media and public information issues to IOM Headquarters and

missions worldwide. It is responsible for media relations as well as producing a variety of other

public information materials, including official statements to mark special events, information

folders, fact sheets and press briefing notes on specific IOM activities for both online and offline

communications outlets.

The Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the IOM Crisis Officer and

Spokesperson, and the thematic supervision of the IOM Brand Manager.

**Core Functions / Responsibilities**:
Tasks to be performed under this contract
- Create static and animated infographics for social media and newsletters.
- Edit short videos, including subtitling and animated intro/outro based on existing templates.
- Create visuals, maps, and icons to illustrate situation reports and appeals topics.
- Layout situation reports and appeals based on IOM official templates.
- Create website and newsletter banners.
- Select, classify, and edit properly field photos.
- Revamp the current ITAC campaign visual identity.
- Create a set of social media cards templates in various formats for platforms such as

Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
- Create a set of static and animated social media cards to promote ITAC on various platforms.
- Create new illustrative banners for the ITAC website.
- Create and populate dedicated ITAC Trello boards.
- Develop animated graphics to promote the campaign on social media (GIFs, vertical stories

etc).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Performance indicators for evaluation of results
- All graphic assets are to a high-quality and in-line with IOM communication guidelines.
- The consultant responds to feedback and comments by the reviewing team and quickly and

effectively integrates suggestions and recommendations in their work.
- The consultant delivers all work in accordance within established timeframes.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:
Education, experience and/or skills required
- University degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, Video Editing or a related field from an

accredited academic institution with at least one year of professional experience; or
- College diploma with three years of relevant experience.

Experience
- Experience in developing visual identities and style guides;
- Experience in editing videos.

**Skills**:

- Demonstrated creative skills and knowledge of the digital graphic art industry;
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative software (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop and

Premiere); Aftereffect and Canvas skills will be an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

For this consultancy, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of

other official IOM language or Portuguese is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,

which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Notes

The consultant must adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data

Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.

The consultant will be responsible to follow IOM writing guidelines and latest glossaries in all

given assignments for accurate translation.
