**ROLE SUMMARY**:

- The Teacher of Music will be responsible for teaching music to all students up to Year 5, and may also be required to teach classes up to and including Year 9, according to the successful applicant’s skills and expertise. They will be line managed by, and work closely with the Head of Expressive and Performing Arts, and will be expected to support the continued development of music for our younger pupils, ensuring that they receive opportunities and support to become the very best musicians that they can be.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work closely with the Head of Faculty continually to improve the quality of the music offer to the pupils- Deliver curriculum music lessons to EYFS, Junior and Middle School classes as required- Support all Junior pupils to achieve musical excellence including via appropriate musical activities- Teach a broad-based musical curriculum that will ensure that all children can achieve their full educational potential- Provide a challenging and supportive learning environment that introduces new ideas and concepts clearly-
- Be responsible for the processes of assessment, recording and reporting for your classes- Have a good working knowledge of a range of teaching and learning strategies that are appropriate for a range of contexts and will allow all children to fulfil their educational potential- Contribute to the identification of pupils with special educational needs, seeking the appropriate specialist support and advice in order to give positive and targeted support- Understand how children and young people develop and know how to make effective personalised provision for pupils**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:
**Skills and previous experience**
- A minimum of 3 years experience with students in a primary school
- University degree in Music
- Certified Teaching Status
- Appropriate right to work in Switzerland
