3D Printing Technician for The Core Facility 3D

The Core Facility 3D Print Lab of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBE) is a technology hub and interdisciplinary expert center for Medical Additive Manufacturing, of which the Swiss MAM research group is an integral part. At our 3D Printing Core Facility and 3D Print Lab at University Hospital Basel, we design and print prototypes, patient-specific models (and even implants), surgical tools for diagnosis, planning, patient communication, training, and educational purposes. This position offers exciting insights into MedTech's innovative work, research, and clinic in digital surgery and medical 3D printing.
**Your position**
The primary responsibilities of the position holder include:
- Processing of 3D model printing requests
- 3D print post-processing and validation of CAD models for quality control
- Ship and receive consignments, update logs, and notify recipients
- Prepare and maintain inventory of 3D printing lab components and tools
- Preparation of reimbursement and invoicing
- Assist with repair, upgrade, and installation of various software and hardware related to the 3D Printing Core Facility / 3DPL
- Educating, training, communicating in the field of medical 3DP
**Your profile**
You are a multitasker with high mechanical aptitude and organizational abilities. Previous experience and knowledge of 3D printer operation and maintenance preferred or related experience with 3D modeling or printer servicing. You have acquired these experiences through a higher apprenticeship or trainee program and/or completed your university education with an excellent bachelor's or master's degree. You are a team player who is open-minded and curious about innovative, interdisciplinary, and translational research projects at the University and the University Hospital Basel. You are a strong communicator and integrator in German and English (preferably also in another Swiss national language).
