**Job Purpose**
The Surgical Assistant Pre-Clinical Studies is responsible for supporting the design, execution, and management of preclinical studies in compliance with regulatory standards, protocols, and ethical guidelines. This role involves organizing pre-clinical studies with internal and external partners, assisting dental surgeons during surgeries and ensuring accurate data collection. The Surgical Assistant Pre-Clinical Studies plays a vital role in advancing research goals by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize study outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and scientific integrity. **Main Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation and execution of preclinical dental studies, including setting up surgical equipment, surgical operating room and materials.
- Provide chairside support during procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to study protocols.
- Perform tasks such as sterilizing instruments, preparing study materials, and maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
- Record accurate and detailed data, including procedure notes and study observations.
- Support inventory management by maintaining stock levels of consumables and study materials.
- Participate in training programs to build expertise in preclinical dental research and develop relevant skills.
- Travel of up to 25% may be required to support off-site studies, attend training sessions, or collaborate with external research partners.

**Requirements needed**:
**Education**
- Trained surgical assistant in any dental, medical, or veterinary setting or lab technician/animal caretaker with surgical experience

**Experience**
- Previous surgical experience in a dental, medical, veterinary or pre-clinical setting is required.
- Proficiency in surgical assistance, including instrument handling, sterilization, and aseptic techniques.
