UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

Our client is a leading Asset Manager within Insurance-linked strategies in Zurich Switzerland, representing high Investment Standards and holds an excellent track record.

To strengthen the experienced team, we offer a motivated, dedicated and reliable personality (f/m) the opportunity to work as a UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT.

Tasks

The Underwriting Assistant is a member of the underwriting and analytics team. The focus of the Underwriting Assistant is on supporting the underwriting team during the entire reinsurance transaction process - from the receipt of contract submission data to the conclusion of the individual reinsurance transaction, including data entries in the proprietary portfolio repository system.

**The main tasks include**:

- Data management: enter and maintain information of reinsurance transactions in our proprietary portfolio management system and ensure completeness for month-end reporting deadlines
- Support the lifecycle management of reinsurance transactions (e.g. manage the documentation around reinsurance contract endorsements, extensions, commutations, etc.)
- Respond to inquiries from counterparties, brokers and service providers; coordinate reinsurance contract execution (signature, filing, etc.) with brokers and a reinsurance entity
- Compile documentation for investment committee (underwriting), approval meetings, compile and maintain company profiles on reinsurance counterparties
- Various project tasks: data quality control, tracking of transaction and counterparty profitability, perform market analyses, etc.

**Requirements**:

- Required: Commercial Apprenticeship (“ Kaufmännische Berufsschule / KV” or “ Kaufmännische Berufsmittelschule” ) in insurance / reinsurance
- Experience within the insurance / reinsurance industry (1-3 yrs) management systems (.e.g. SICS); Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Economics or Finance (Mathematics or other quantitative studies);)
- Experience with insurance/reinsurance contract
- Fluent / native English; German language skills of significant advantage
- Integrity, motivated, strong attention to detail, pro-active and team player
