Director Precision Medicine Bd&l

2005 That’s the year that Novartis began exploring Precision Medicine to extend and improve the lives of patients, by enabling the regulatory approval and commercial sale of transformative therapies.

You will support the Precision Medicine BD&L Function in deal negotiations and alliance management and ensure internal cross-functional and cross-divisional alignment to deliver timely collaborations in view of Novartis portfolio development. You will support Precision Medicine Search & Evaluations and Due Diligence activities and assure strong collaboration between development, research and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead/Co-lead the execution of finding activities (Diagnostic companies and Testing laboratories) and alignment with strategic priority projects in collaboration with GBDLs.
- Co-lead due diligence, build network of contacts, oversee evaluation of partnerships at multiple levels
- Provide scientific (with regard to biomarkers and technologies) and operational support to PM BD&L activities.
- Manage stakeholders, present to internal leadership teams and drive internal consensus on PM BD&L deals.
- Negotiate agreements and re-negotiate existing alliances (covering development and commercialization).
- Oversee/manage specific PM BD&L projects and Precision Medicine alliances (JPT), including the prioritization of activities.
- Develop and implement PM BD&L alliance management tools (Inova).
- Support internal PM BD&L processes to ensure quality and consistency of PM BD&L activities (evaluation, negotiation and alliance management).
- Lead and work effectively in x-functional teams across the entire organization.

**Minimum requirements**

What you'll bring to the role:

- University Degree (PhD) or equivalent
- Solid knowledge and experience of/in the Precision Medicine space (Diagnostic industry, regulatory and compliance understanding on a global basis (US, EU, Japan and China)).
- Strong scientific background and biomarker development experience.
- Good negotiation skills and extended experience in managing complex alliances.
- People leadership - Setting direction and managing teams.
- Cross-unit collaboration - Working across different functions and geographies.

Desirable criteria
- Pharma experience - deep understanding of overall drug development processes (from research through development to approval)
- Languages: English a must, additional languages desirable
