**Research and Teaching Associate at the doctoral student or postdoc level 60 - 80 %**: Start of employment : 01.10.2025 (later start date possible upon agreement), temporary

The Chair of International Management is part of the Department of Business Administration (Institut für Betriebswirtschaftslehre) at the University of Zurich. The research focus of the chair is on strategic management, in particular the challenges that multinational enterprises face related to M&A, innovation, transformation & renewal, corporate governance, and top management topics.

The position is initially limited to three years and can be extended annually if the assessment is positive.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Conduct independent research with the aim of completing a cumulative PhD thesis
- Collaborate on ongoing research projects at the chair
- Support teaching activities, including supervision of student theses, preparation of course materials, and assistance with innovative teaching formats
- Contribute to the administrative and organisational tasks of the chair

**Your profile**:

- Master's degree for the PhD position and PhD for the Postdoctoral position, in Business Administration or neighbouring fields such as Applied Economics, or Industrial Engineering and Management with a focus on strategic management and interest in the research topics at the Chair of International Management.
- Expertise in quantitative methods or simulation methods, demonstrated for example in the master's or doc-toral thesis.
- For PhD applicants, strong potential to develop and publish research results in international top journals demonstrated, for instance, through a research-oriented thesis. For Postdoctoral applicants, demonstrated, for instance, by published papers, or work under review or accepted at conferences. Applicants should also have developed a research program of international stature. Applicants should be willing to develop a re-search portfolio aligned with the research at the Chair of International Management. - Excellent command of English (oral and written). German is a plus.
- CV (including possible publications and 1-3 contacts who can be contacted for reference)
- Transcripts of bachelor, master and if applicable doctoral degrees - One-to-two-page summary of your master's thesis or doctoral dissertation
- A short 2-3 page essay on your research interest and how it relates to the research at the Chair of International Management.
- Up to three papers you consider your strongest work (e.g., master's thesis, published papers, thesis chapters, or working papers)
