Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking an Intern to join our Co-Op R&D team located in Zuchwil. Join our team to advance the future of human health and take the first steps toward building a career with a purpose
As a Master Thesis Student, you will be a part of our R&D team and support the development of the next generation of surgical implants for fracture fixation with the assigned project.
- Independent planning and execution of the assigned project
- Review relevant existing literature and products
- Design relevant implant and/or instrument
- Planning, execution, and analysis of physical or simulated mechanical testing
- Perform and assess statistical analyses
- Write a final report and give an oral presentation of the results
Qualifications - Education and Experience:
- Engineering student (FH, ETH, min. 2 years of study) with mechanical engineering / materials engineering / biomedical engineering expertise.
- Completed prerequisites to start working on the master’s thesis as per university regulations
Qualifications - Proficiencies and Skills:
- Interest in the areas of product development and medical devices.
- Skills in the areas of design, mechanical testing and validation.
- Basic CAD skills (preferably ProE / Creo).
- Basic skills in finite element analysis
- Basic anatomical & biomechanical understanding
- Basic statistical knowledge
- Basic programming experience in MATLAB and/or Python.
- Comfortable with reading and reviewing technical documents and drawings
- Written and oral English communication is required, German is a plus
