Branch Manager

**Nippon Express Switzerland** has been a prominent figure in the Swiss logistics industry for 37 years, boasting branch offices in both Zurich and Geneva. With a dedicated team of 45 staff members spread across the two locations (35 in Zurich and 10 in Geneva), we offer a comprehensive range of services including Air, Ocean, Rail, EU Road, Contract Logistics, Customs, and Crosstrade (Control Tower). In your role as the leader of the office in Geneva, you are at the forefront of supporting the team in daily operations and energizing the staff to achieve success. Your ability to organize and secure transportation and logistics activities, ensure top-notch customer service, and actively participate in business growth initiatives is what drives the dynamic development of our branch. With the exciting responsibility of overseeing the P&L of the Geneva branch and spearheading customer care and regional development, you are truly making a difference in our company's journey towards excellence

These will be your most important responsibilities:

- Responsible for managing operations, staff, and profitability of our Geneva branch.
- Ensure compliance with global company guidelines and regulations for services.
- Foster team empowerment, open communication, and development.
- Oversee running costs, corrective measures, procurement, and relationships with service providers.
- Prioritize top-tier customer service, support day-to-day operations, handle escalated matters and customer claims, and drive new business success.
- Maintain cost control, approve payments, and encourage continuous improvement initiatives for efficient work processes.
- Drive the business development of the branch and the promotion of our services, internal of our global network as well as to the local market.
- Support Sales in providing competitive transportation solutions, support establishing internal and external quotations, take care of RFQ’s.
- Visit customers when needed and assume Account Management activities for assigned customers.
- Coordinate sales activities with Regional BD for Western Switzerland and Country Sales Management.
- Foster the collaboration with all departments of Nippon Express Switzerland as well as stations / agents and business drivers of the global NX network.

**Requirements**:

- Experienced in freight forwarding and logistics with proven management success
- Business background in Western Switzerland and French speaking as well as international environments is a must
- Proficient in air and freight forwarding services and procedures
- Proficient in leading and motivating teams, financial knowledge, and multicultural adaptability
- Effective communicator with strong organizational and planning skills
- Commercially oriented with a commitment to exceptional customer service
- Able to manage conflicts and stress, patient, persevering, self-motivated, and a team player
- Familiar with state of the art logistics systems (CargoWise experience is a plus)
- Fluent in French and business-level English
- Vocational training or higher level education in SCM or a related field
