At the heart of the worlds fastest growing sports brand there is a large R&D team, consisting of Design, Innovation and Development. The leader of the design department is looking for a powerful chief of staff / studio manager, supporting him in leading the global design team.
Your Team:
It’s our purpose to disrupt the sportswear market with innovative, highly functional designs. You will join and help to lead a multidisciplinary and very international team of footwear, apparel, accessories and innovation designers with backgrounds both typical and non-typical for the sportswear industry. The team fully consists of creatives, working closely with other department such as development, innovation, PM, materials, supply chain, marketing or sales.
Your Mission:
You are joining the team as the right hand of the Global Head Of Design. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Coordinators, your first and foremost task is to give the Global Head of Design the framework, time and space to be able to fully focus on his creative tasks and leadership responsibilities. You do so by collaborating closely with him by
Building the team:
- Planning the further growth of the team
- Supporting the annual headcount planning and budgeting
- Enabling the recruiting process in close collaboration with our talent team, including following up on hiring progress & headcount changes
Growing the team:
- Sensing the entire Design team and enabling the team to develop by partnering closely with leaders and the talent team on people related topics, including team building and performance, nurturing a culture of feedback and wellbeing
Increasing the team’s impact:
- Set-Up and optimisation of framework, work processes, tools and platforms
- Content planning of bigger team meetings + events
Business planning, prioritisation and support:
- Planning the year, including putting together the yearly budget for the department
- Supporting the prioritisation of tasks, meetings and projects and being the “gatekeeper” of what’s valuable time spent and what not
- Independent preparation and follow up of important meetings and design reviews
- Debriefing teams following important meetings and design reviews and following up on respective actionables
- Supporting the design leads in the planning of their year + product ranges
- Being and important link to other functional teams
**Your Story**:
- While you don’t have to be a designer/ex-designer, serious interest in products and design is a must
- Background as Chief Of Staff, Executive Coordinator or Assistant, Project Leader or Product Manager (or very similar) with at least 5 years of experience.
- You have the ability to understand a complex, fast growing range of products and the diverse, international communities we are designing them for
- You are a team player with a can-do attitude
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with a focus on delivering
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
- You are very structured, 100% reliable and can treat any information confidentially
- You know how to get the information you are missing in order to work
- You always keep the overview - the more hectic it gets, the more focused you are
- You are a problem solver
- You are very independent, yet are a people person: while you will technically not have direct reports, you are in a strategically important position looking after a whole team - you need to authentically care about people
- You easily connect with everyone and have fine tuned antennas regarding people topics
