**Purpose of the role**

The Proton Data team is responsible for everything that enables the company to make data-driven decisions, with our on-premise, custom data platform at the center. This platform leverages tools such as Kafka, Spark, Clickhouse and ElasticSearch orchestrated with Airflow and monitored with Grafana and Kibana. We are looking for a** System Administrator **to join our DataOps team and help maintain, consolidate and improve our data platform, running operations around the cluster and data pipelines to ensure the highest availability and performance.

**What you will do**
- Be the first line of support in finding, fixing and responding to failures at any point in the data platform, from machines configuration to the data flow
- Grow the data platform in collaboration with external teams, both horizontally and adding new elements to the software stack
- Be responsible for continuous improvement of the monitoring and logging system, trying to cover all the possible monitoring aspects in order to fix unexpected failures
- Document the data platform infrastructure
- Collaborate with and support our Data Team
- Work independently and take responsibility and ownership of your work
- 2+ years DevOps/SysAdmin experience
- Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, and security
- Experience with configuration management and automation (Puppet or Ansible)
- Solid practical experience with version control (Git)
- Good knowledge of container technologies, especially Docker
- Basic experience in system monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience with any of these technologies will be a plus: Spark stream processing, Scala/Java, Kafka, Kubernetes
