The Pharmacokinetic Sciences (PKS) Department within the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) in Basel, Switzerland is recruiting for a PhD-level scientist with experience in metabolic profiling to join their global Biotransformation team (with several groups in Europe and North America) to strengthen the department’s metabolite profiling and identification (metID) capabilities for new modalities like antibody drug conjugates, radioligands and oligonucleotides.
As a biotransformation expert on new modalities, you will develop state-of-the-art analytical methodologies based on immunoprecipitation followed by intact mass analysis using high resolution mass spectrometry and be familiar with the chromatography and structure elucidation including data processing of proteins, oligonucleotides and/or peptides. You will plan and execute tailored experiments, maintain the laboratory environment/instruments, and support the development of new technologies. You will ultimately have to support the reporting of the biotransformation results.
Experience with radioactivity and radioprofiling of metabolites would be an asset.

**Minimum requirements**
- Degree in organic/analytical/biochemistry (MSc, PhD or equivalent) with experience on antibody drug conjugates, peptides, radioligands and/or oligonucleotides ideally in an industry setting or academia.
- Excellent (hands-on) experience with high resolution mass spectrometry coupled to chromatography, immunoprecipitation and intact mass analysis and metabolite profiling and metabolite structure elucidation. Experience with handling of radioactivity would be an asset
- Good understanding of drug metabolizing enzymes and drug metabolism in in vitro and in vivo models
- Good attention to detail, an analytical investigative and questioning nature, with an innovative solution-oriented approach
- A sharp and objective intellect, experienced in balancing big picture thinking with an investigative nature, drilling into detail as appropriate
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with good presence; experienced presenter and communicator
