Test Automation Architect

For our international medical partner, Roche Diagnostics Int Ltd based in Rotkreuz, we are looking for a qualified and motivated **Test Automation Architect** for one year with option for extension.

The revolutionary, Nobel-prize-winning Polymerase Chain Reaction Technology (PCR), quickly replicates a single specific fragment of DNA or RNA to quantities sufficient for accurate laboratory analysis. PCR testing is in a phase of transformation and has seen huge growth during the COVID pandemic. We are looking for a Test Automation Architect seasoned focusing on test automation archtitect development to join our team driving Roche’s integrated Molecular Diagnostics PCR testing solutions that empower clinical advancements on our successful platforms such as the Cobas 6800/8800.

**Tasks**:

- Creating software to test software either by coding or by integrating third party tools into our test suites
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts
- Collaborate with software architects to evaluate and define test architecture
- Participate in technical reviews of the software architecture, particularly with respect to its testability
- Review designs and the architecture with close attention to code quality and risks
- Work with the test manager to define the test automation strategy as part of the overall strategy
- Collaborate with the test manager in defining strategies for non-functional testing
- Organize and coordinate test environments with the test manager and development teams
- Assist test managers in evaluating the test tools used
- Configure and manage test environments
- Responsible for software configuration management of test tools
- Work with the build manager to ensure continuous integration and continuous testing
- Assist test managers in evaluating test results
- Assist test managers/test project managers in creating required test documentation (e.g., test plans and test reports)
- When working in a scrum team, share responsibility and be committed to achieving team goals by promoting and supporting quality
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, relevant standards, Molecular Solutions Standard Operating Procedure, and work instructions
- Supervises and supports strategic partners and key projects
- Assists in establishing and implementing policies and procedures in the SW department and across departments, e.g., quality assurance, team reference manual, and environment setup
- Performs mission critical tasks or leads working groups to resolve technical challenges

**Must Haves**:

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in software engineering or similar
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in test automation as a software architect
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software testing, preferably in the medical device industry
- Strong hands-on experience in testing at different levels (unit / component / integration / end-to-end / UI)
- Hands-on programming experience in Java, C#, Python
- senior experience in BDD, Build Management, Design Patterns MH
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, proactive and solution oriented
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills

**Nice to haves**:

- Certification in agile such as SAFe, PMI-ACP or CSM preferred
- Experience in healthcare systems, data and workflows
- Working and/or personal experience in diverse and inclusive work environments
