**This position reports to**:
R&D Manager R&D Team CH

**Your role and responsibilities**:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is: onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the team in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Main stakeholder is Electrification division. You will be mainly accountable for: - Support, collaboration and independent execution of design work in SolidWorks (2d/3d) within the framework of development and product care projects - Collaboration in the area of product change management - Creation and maintenance of parts lists - Support and collaboration in product master data maintenance - Procurement of new components and prototypes - Creation of documentation

**Qualifications for the role**:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or in a related field of study
- You are at ease communicating in English, German is beneficial
- You are confident in handling MS Office and CAD tools, preferred SolidWorks
- You are able to work independently and responsibly
- You are curious and initiative
- A professional qualification as an automation technician, automation fitter, switchgear fitter, electronics technician or similar is a plus
