Android Team Manager

We are recruiting for our office in Winterthur

Tasks
- You lead the team in charge of developing and maintaining our software running on an Android payment terminal by using Java, Kotlin and TypeScript.
- Establish technical directions for the team in order to develop and maintain the Android payment terminal software. The software is responsible for accepting payments in physical stores. The software reads the chip data of the card and processes it by handing over the data to the server.
- Oversee software quality as well as guiding team members through troubleshooting and technical issues.
- Liaise with team members, senior management and product team to ensure projects are completed as agreed.
- Define the processes within the team to ensure a smooth software development and software delivery.
- You actively participate in pushing our terminal device initiatives.
- You implement new features, extend existing features and improve the current code base.
- You participate in code reviews of colleges and help distribute the knowledge.
- You are involved in the design of new features and explaining to others how existing features are working.
- You help improve the software based on customer feedback.

**Requirements**:

- Top notch communication skills. Our communication happens mostly in English. Experience with distributed teams is a plus.
- You are highly committed and result-oriented.
- Multiple years of experience in writing secure and well-structured code (Kotlin, Java) for Android.
- Experience with the Android Open Source Project is a plus.
- You have excellent discipline, pride and professionalism to write readable, documented and unit-tested code that serves as an example for those who study your work.
- A user focused mindset and an intrinsic motivation to learn new things.
- Experience in the payment industry is a plus.
- Must have proven time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Able to quickly analyse issues and offer sound recommendations and solutions in a fast growing, global company.
