Light Duty Mechanic

**Amentum** is seeking a**Light Duty Mechanic**to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in **Andros Island, Bahamas**. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.**

**Please note this is for a requirement coming available within the next one to two months.**

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Diagnose and repair all manner of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform general preventive maintenance.
- Respond to “road” call for emergency repairs.
- Read and understand manufacturers’ shop manuals.
- Be familiar with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Prepare and submit order/requisitions for parts.
- Provide complete documentation of all maintenance and repairs.
- Repair and maintain tools and equipment.
- Use of hand and power tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Repair or help repair cranes IAW with Navy Crane Center regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform weekly “On Call” duties in rotation with other mechanics.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- 5 years of diagnostic and mechanical repair experience.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Must be able to regularly stand/bend at waist/stoop/crouch and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in loud environment.
- Must be able to work on uneven terrain.
- Must be knowledgeable in operation of Snap-on scan and diagnostic tool.
- Read and understand technical/repair manuals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- ** Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.**
- ** Valid U.S. passport and driver's license will be required.**
- ** Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.**

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- ASE certifications for light vehicles and air conditioning preferred.
