You’ll be joining the Growth Acquisition pod in Zurich. Our goal is to increase Smallpdf awareness, acquire valuable users and activate them on the platform to become as productive as possible.
In more practical terms, we:

- Plan, develop, establish and optimise strategies to drive acquisition, activation, engagement, and ultimately—growth
- Use the product to create advocates for the business via referral programs and external Partnerships.
**Your mission**:
As a UX/UI Designer at Smallpdf, you will be part of the design and research team. Your mission is to understand our customers and design solutions that help them achieve their goals, and ultimately grow our business. You will work in cross-functional product teams, together with PMs, engineers, and other experts to shape the user experience across the Smallpdf products for 40+ million users from all over the world.
**Your responsibilities**:

- Create sketches and wireframes, user flows, customer journeys, and lo-fi interactive prototypes to test ideas and concepts.
- Design smooth user interactions that enable our customers to achieve their objectives in the best possible way.
- Design clear, functional and easy-to-use interfaces that work and delight at the same time.
- Create pixel perfect mockups and assets for various devices and systems.
- Design reusable UI components and contribute to scale and maintain our design system.
- Conduct user research and usability testing with the help of our research department.
- Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into design ideas and concepts.
- TLDR: Design simple, elegant and smooth user experiences that help our users and customers achieve their goals, with WOW moments : )
**Your profile**:

- 7+ years of in-house experience in the digital product environment, working on UX/UI of consumer-facing products, ideally in the SaaS sector
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD in the field of Design, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, or other field emphasising design, creativity and human behaviour.
- A solid and compelling digital portfolio showing working examples of well-executed designs that display a thorough understanding of interaction design and interface design principles.
- A strong knowledge and experience in UX, able to run your own research (interviews, usability tests), and able to use research methods to explore the problem and evaluate your designs and get early feedback from users and stakeholders.
- A solid design process and workflow, with excellent sketching, wire-framing and rapid prototyping skills.
- An holistic and customer centric mindset, with a strong focus on the end-to-end customer experience. You have the big picture in mind, you design scalable long-term solutions, as well as short-term improvements that bring value to both our customers and the business.
- A strong user empathy and understanding of human psychology, emotional and persuasive design and usability principles.
- A solid understanding and ability to use data and qualitative insights to inform your design decisions.
- Hands-on experience with Figma or similar design tools.
- Team player with experience working across teams and professionals at any level.
- Sense of ownership in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent English, both verbal and written. Any other language is a plus
- Based in Zurich or willing to relocate; this is an on-site role.
- EU-Citizen or a valid work permit to work in Switzerland.
**Nice to have**:

- Branding and marketing experience
- Illustration, animation and motion design skills
- Frontend technologies
- Basic SQL knowledge
