Sales Consultant

MSC Kreuzfahrten AG is a Swiss subsidiary of MSC Cruises, part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company and the largest privately-owned cruise company in the world. The Swiss company, with Mediterranean roots and headquarters in Geneva, employs around 33,000 people worldwide and has 75 offices around the globe. The swiss flagship office in Zurich currently employs 18 people.

With immediate effect we are looking for a sales talent for our filed crew in the German speaking part of Switzerland.

Aufgaben

Manages and develops a portfolio of travel agencies within the designated geographical area by growing sales, increasing the number of active travel agencies and providing day-to-day support for booking related issues and training in products and services.

**Main activities**:

- Maintains and nurtures relationship with existing portfolio of accounts by planning, preparing for and performing independently regular on-site visits. Analyses, steers and reports on accounts’ sales trends and performance
- Increase sales of own travel agencies’ portfolio through dedicated sales activities (overcommission, promotions etc.) aligned with the sales and marketing plan
- Follows up with relevant internal counterparts (Pricing, Key Account Manager) regarding promotions and sales activities
- Presents and convinces accounts to advertise, communicate and sell MSC Cruises’ latest sales offers specially promotions
- Develops the group tours business while ensuring optimal investment support from accounts in terms of advertising or pre
- and/or post cruises arrangements (such as flights, hotels, etc.)
- Identifies, evaluates and gears up new travel agency accounts or sales partnerships such as MICE business or OTA’s
- Identify and acquire potential sales partnerships and platforms outside the travel industry (i. e., associations, schools, universities)
- Monitors and reports on competitors’ actions in the respective geographical area
- Participates and presents during events organized by travel agencies to develop MSC Cruises’ products and services awareness and image. Attends trade fair and other exhibitions
- Coordinates and implements trainings in products and services for travel agencies. Organizes and leads familiarization trips
- Ensures travel agencies’ are stocked and properly displaying MSC Cruises’ marketing and decoration materials

The sales consultant might support the sales supoort department in the Zurich office with following tasks:

- Support the sales department (esp. Key Account Manager and Sales Director) in day-to-day business
- Support of sales partners with marketing activities (review and approval of partner brochures, ads and newsletters)
- Support trade partners in topics related to MSC booking systems such as the MSC book, XML and Flatfile
- Assistance with the communication (promotions, itinerary changes, product adjustments, contract conditions, etc.) to B2B partners

Qualifikation
- Fluency in (Swiss-)German, French and good knowledge of English
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales or other commercial areas within the travel/tourism industry
- Strong preference for individuals with previous experience in accounts management
- Good command of MS Office Suite; especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Results-driven attitude, strong at building relationship, demonstrated robust negotiation skills
- High ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel daily within the designated geographical area
