The Head of Integrity is responsible for the Integrity, Regulatory and Data Privacy portfolio (“Integrity”) and will scale an Integrity Program that is appropriate, suitable and fit-for-purpose for the MO Business Area Build, develop and lead a team of legal counsels and integrity specialists who will be accountable and responsible for supporting all Integrity matters for MO, in strong collaboration with MO Regional General Counsels, Country Corporate Counsels and Division Lead Counsels. Build, develop and implement a strong and robust integrity operations program, with the right tools and resourcing level, to provide seamless support for all operational aspects of the Integrity Program (this includes investigations, integrity related approvals for donations/sponsorships, third party management screening and due diligence, gifts/travel/hospitality approvals). Lead the compliance and integrity program for the MO Business Area across a broad array of topics including ABAC, trade compliance, investigations, FCPA and 3rd party management risk, at all times providing strategic advice and direction to the Business Area and Divisions. Design, Lead and drive an effective method of deploying all Group-wide integrity program initiatives within the Business Area, always ensuring fit-for-purpose and practical implementation within the Divisions. Ensure that the BA is always operating within a sound legal, compliance and regulatory framework on all Integrity matters. Accountable for the successful execution of the MO Workplan as committed to the Department of Justice under the Deferred Prosecution Agreement.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Act as the primary speaking partner and point of contact for the Corporate Integrity and Regulatory Affairs (I&RA) group on all Integrity matters for the MO Business Area
- Executing Group strategies in a manner that aligns with MO strategic business objectives
- Establishing and leading a global team of integrity lawyers, investigators and specialists
- Making decisions by enhancing processes, methods and resources, while driving simplification through the ABB Way
- Identify gaps and improvements needed across the BA in the areas of policy, best practices and compliance with all aspects of the Integrity portfolio
- Define/lead/implement changes and improvements in strong collaboration with Group I&RA
- Define the development and implementation of various processes and strategies to promote an overarching culture of integrity and compliance
- Provide advice, counsel and supervise team members on all Integrity, Regulatory and Data Privacy law related matters, from the basic to the complex; recognizing when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the BA General Counsel and Global Chief Integrity Officer.
- Lead on sensitive senior level employee investigations in partnership with the Integrity & Regulatory Affairs team
- Tracking industry trends that impact the MO Business Area.
- Set up processes and supervise, manage and evaluate outside counsel on all Integrity related matters.
- Develop and build on a strong network of selected outside counsel law firms who will serve as the preferred law firms for Integrity matters
- Work in partnership with division leaders to provide legal advice and strategy regarding Integrity matters
- Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with key internal stakeholders, other legal team members and colleagues.
- Lead, and/or serve as primary contact for all business area Integrity related litigation, disputes, regulator investigations.
- Work with the MO Communications Team to develop a communication strategy for Integrity related messages across MO and Divisions
- Accountable for budget setting and maintenance of the Integrity Team from a cost perspective
**Your background**:
- Master of Laws/Juris Doctor from a reputable University, member of a bar
- Familiarity with integrity and compliance legal issues in both common law and civil legal systems.
- Minimum 15 years’ post qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable international law firm, or multinational company in-house experience.
- Experience working across many jurisdictions and providing advice and counsel at a leadership team level.
- Work experience with international clients and cross-border projects, including exposure to strategic business decisions
