**We are currently looking for Medical Affairs Manager in Cardiovascular who will be a part of the broader Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism team and play a leading role in our Medical Affairs Department.**:
**What you’ll do**:
**You will be an expert in the field with a focus on engaging in scientific exchange, on building and maintaining peer-to-peer relationship with external experts and on understanding and uncovering unmet medical needs and on generating insights. You will report directly into the Lead Medical Affairs Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM).**:
***The role engages with experts to identify unmet needs, evidence gaps and gain insight, and delivers presentations in a non-promotional scientific context as determined by the global / local Medical Affairs plans. You will develop the medical product strategies and its implementation within the framework of the local brand plans, mainly based upon the customer insights gathered in the field. You will be responsible for the medical scientific input on our launch plan.**:
**Main Accountabilities**
The role broadly includes the following key components:
- Co-develop and implement the local medical plan to address unmet medical need in this priority disease area and ensure alignment with the brand plan in the local market
- Works closely with the cross-functional team and drive the implementation of initiatives and projects such as medical education and communication, scientific exchange, mapping, and insight gathering, and evidence generation within the therapy area, ensuring they are medically and scientifically accurate and compliant
- Co-develop materials for internal and external use
- Build, enhance and maintain the engagement with key opinion leaders
- Help set up and provide medical-scientific training and further education in your therapeutic area for the sales force and other AZ personnel
- Proactively contribute medical & clinical expertise and insights to the brand strategy, for the successful launch and life cycle management (LCM)
- Organisation and execution of scientific events such as symposia, other educational initiatives for healthcare professionals
- Organisation of and participation in local advisory board meetings
- Build and maintain expertise by continuous education and by participation in congresses and AstraZeneca events
- Develop and maintain contacts with Scientific Societies/Communities
- Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements and AstraZeneca Local and Global Policies and Guidelines
**Responsibilities will also include**:
- Support the market access team by providing scientific input into the scoping & horizon scanning meetings, rapid reviews & health technology assessment (clinical section)
- Support of the Medical Information / Patient Safety team in handling of external medical and scientific requests
- Collect and discuss with Investigators the proposal for independent studies (ESR Externally Sponsored Research) and follow the process for the company’s evaluation and discussion
- Review promotional and scientific documents for content accuracy and compliance
**Essential For The Role**
- University degree in a scientific field
- PhD is preferred
- Good understanding of development and execution of medical affairs plans, previous experience in cardiovascular disease areas
- Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially as Medical Affairs Manager, Medical Science Liaison or within Medical Affairs in the therapeutic area mentioned above; experience within Clinical research will also be considered
- High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyse and process clinical and scientific data
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to various audiences
- Excellent project management ability
- Experience in liaising with healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of the local regulatory and market access requirements related to me
