Engineering Manager

- and bacterial vaccines and is recently expanding its portfolio into bacterial based therapeutic products.

Manages activities of the Engineering Team to support the development and manufacture of Pharmaceuticals in a regulated environment and maximize the benefit to the company in line with the Johnson & Johnson CREDO and the leadership imperatives

**Essential duties**:

- Responsible for End-to-End Engineering Business on site
- Setting the strategy, leveraging best practices, and developing internal as well as external partnerships for Engineering
- Strategical responsible for the development and updating of the Site Asset Master Planning (SAMP), support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Facility Condition Assessment incl. associated Long-Range-Financial-Plan (LRFP) based on and in strong alignment with the overall strategy for the business needs in line with site development
- Responsible for strategic and tactical planning, controlling and overall governance of capital investments (CapEx) on site incl. associated portfolio and individual project management
- Develop and maintain a metrics program for monitoring Engineering and especially project performance and act on bad trends immediately
- Accountable for the resolution of issues that may arise within scope including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and investigations in case of technical, quality or safety events, incidents and/or accidents
- Ensure continued internal alignment with local and global business partners, organizations and manage the link into Engineering
- Ensure that processes are fit-for-purpose by authoring and/or acting as process owner
- Process ownership according to QMS
- Provides procedural guidance and technical leadership towards all investment projects on site from idea generation to close-out and lessons learned in order to achieve best-in class project delivery and optimized organizational learning
- Responsibilities also include: Oversight on Customer Relationship Management, Authorities and Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Performance Management, Contractual and Insurance Obligations, Contractor Safety and EHS Compliance within area of responsibility
- Supports or leads the local deployment of corporate initiatives
- Develop and manage annual goals and objectives (G&Os) for the team based on the site G&Os along with financial budgets
- Organize and supervise the day-to-day business of the team including all direct reporting staff
- Ensure all Engineering and associated efforts are in full compliance with all applicable regulations, procedures and standards
- Ensure team staffing levels according to business needs incl. the adequacy of staff skills through periodic evaluations, coaching and mentoring as well as personal development programs
- Conduct regular self-inspections, continuous monitoring and spot checks to identify gaps or potential situations of non-compliance including remediation and follow-up for sustainable effectiveness
- Act as office of records for the area of responsibility
- Manages the team matters of the document management and quality event tracking systems (e.g. TruVault and Trackwise)
- Act as a Document Owner

**Performance measurement**:

- Delivery on annual goals & objectives, guided by Our Credo and Leadership Imperatives
- Add other read-outs, like KPIs, survey results, etc.

**Qualifications**:
Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or a technical/commercial field (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology or Chemical) discipline with supervisory experience required.
- Years of experience: e.g. BS 5-10 yrs.’ MS/MBA/Ph.D. 5 yrs.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Food or other highly regulated industry preferred.
- PM/FPx certification desirable
- Previous experience with managing budgets
- Professional experience in the biopharmaceutical industry as plant engineer or project manager is highly desired
