**What's the role?**:
As an Expert for Business Unit Measuring you will leverage your broad scientific know-how within the domain of optical and electronic systems to understand and anticipate trends in the domain of high accuracy measuring solutions for building construction, thus influencing our roadmap of priorities and solutions.

**What does the role involve?**:
As the R&D Expert, your contribution will be instrumental to define our technology and platform roadmap, identifying the winning _big bets _and supporting the development of innovative solutions. You will proactively build and maintain an internal and external network to stay abreast of developments within the field and establish winning synergies where possible.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Contributing to the technology and solution roadmaps
- Supporting and driving the development of innovative solution as part of our product lifecycle management
- Assembling early _Proofs of Concept _with the support of internal and external partners and resources in order to demonstrate feasibility and viability
- Becoming the technology _go to _person for the Business Unit Measuring community, especially R&D and Marketing
- Fostering an innovation mindset through critical thinking
- Maintaining your competences up to date _on-the-job _as well as through courses and seminars
- Communicating with the R&D and Business Unit leadership teams.

**What you need is**:

- PhD in electronics engineering/Physics or built-up experience in similar technical positions within technology development organizations
- Significant experience in Optoelectronics (lasers, photodiodes, materials) & electronics, sensor technologies, measurement technologies, algorithms for calibration, signal processing, image processing, SLAM
- Knowledge of mechanics and software development
- Production experience and relevant construction methods and processes is a plus
- Critical thinking, analytical and conceptual skills combined with a hands-on attitude: e.g. concept prototyping, electronics/mechanics handy work, testing setup and data collection.
- Entrepreneurship with good communication skills within interdisciplinary/multicultural teams
