The Challenge Ahead

In this role, you will develop models and deliver insights to improve the way we plan and optimize our marketing efforts, drive budget allocation, and identify opportunities to grow our business through data and learning. You are a technically-oriented individual, a problem solver and a critical thinker. You are able to drive projects independently within a collaborative framework with the rest of the team. You show willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques. You know how to select the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem.

What a Data Scientist does at EA

Demonstrate problem solving skills that deliver computational models and tools that support business decision making
Contribute to the entire development process including data gathering, validation, preprocessing, model development, deployment and re-calibration
Is a data storyteller and present results to peers and stakeholders with varying technical expertise, and incorporate feedback to re-iterate and improve the work
Follow software engineering best practices, resulting in high-quality code and documentation

Minimum qualifications

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Engineering
2 years of work experience in analytics or data science in a corporate setting, with applied experience with multivariate analysis, Bayesian statistics and time-series analysis
Good knowledge of statistical programming languages such R or Python, and SQL for working with databases

**Preferred qualifications**:
PhD degree in a quantitative discipline
+3 years of relevant work experience
In-depth knowledge of statistics and machine-learning methods
Experience of developing software in the production environment
Fluency in modern R programming (Markdown, tidyverse, data tables, and Shiny app). Good Python skill is a plus
