This role is crucial in formulating rigorous assessment of macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and market developments that influence the insurance landscape. Key Responsibilities Economic insight into insurance sector: Apply advanced economic analysis to understand and interpret developments in the re/insurance sector, including shifts in the macroeconomy, market and product dynamics, policyholder behaviour, as well as emerging risks. Industry research: Investigate and analyse insurance-specific trends, such as the take-up of insurance in different countries, historical claims patterns, actual and prospective regulatory changes, and competitive market dynamics. Thought leadership: Draft high-quality research reports, white papers, and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external publication. Policy impact assessment: Evaluate the economic implications of regulatory and legislative policies for re/insurers and the possible insurance industry responses. Stakeholder collaboration: Build a network of experts, both inside and outside the insurance industry and leverage their insights to strengthen the GA's research. Organise and participate in selected GA conferences. Presentations: Showcase GA research through presentations to senior insurance executives, industry conferences, and other stakeholder engagements. Qualifications Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Economics or Finance, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in publishing economic research and working in the insurance industry or financial services. Deep understanding of macro-finance issues and the potential implications for the insurance industry. Analytical skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, and an aptitude to translate applied research into compelling insights. Technical skills: Exceptional ability to summarise and synthesise complex economic issues, including using formal statistical analysis. Familiarity with insurance products, risk modelling, and actuarial principles. Honed skills in storytelling and visualisation to present insights effectively. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and present research for both technical and non-technical audiences. Native or fluent in English; other languages desirable. Collaboration: Excellent people skills, ability to interact with senior executives and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
