Advanced Laser and AM Process Technician/Engineer

Corintis develops advanced microfluidic cooling solutions for AI chips, GPUs, and CPUs to reduce datacenter power consumption. Our software platform, Glacierware, customizes cooling channels to each chip’s power map, enabling efficient and sustainable cooling. We are based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, Switzerland, and our team includes over 20 nationalities.We’re looking for a hands-on Advanced Laser and AM Process Technician/Engineer to support and develop our in-house manufacturing capabilities for next-generation microfluidic cooling solutions for HPC and AI systems.In this role, you will operate and improve advanced prototyping equipment, starting with laser micro-etching systems and expanding into additive manufacturing and CNC machining as these technologies are deployed.You’ll work at the intersection of laser processing, precision prototyping, and early-stage manufacturing engineering—helping us accelerate development cycles and deliver high-performance cooling components.Responsibilities of the roleSupport daily operation of in-house laser micro-etching systems, including setup, programming, and execution of custom etching processes on silicon, copper, diamond, and other substrates.Assist in developing, validating, and improving laser processes to increase throughput, repeatability, and yield.Conduct metrology and inspection of prototypes using Keyence microscopes, SEMs, and standard measurement tools; provide structured feedback on process stability, automation opportunities, and performance.Operate and support additional prototyping technologies (additive manufacturing, CNC machining, 3D printing) as they come online, including preparing setups, running programs (e.g., G-code), and performing basic maintenance or troubleshooting.Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of prototype defects, equipment issues, and process deviations; contribute to data collection and reporting for key process metrics (e.g., yield, cycle time, dimensional accuracy).Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, process parameters, and support management of consumables, tooling, and maintenance schedules.Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new processes and technologies into the prototyping workflow and drive continuous improvements that reduce bottlenecks and accelerate prototyping timelines.Document processes, best practices, and lessons learned to support scaling and knowledge transfer.Requirements Technician with an Advanced Federal Diploma (Technicien diplômé ES) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or Materials Engineering.Minimum 3+ years of experience with machining, CNC processes, and dimensional inspection tools.Hands-on experience with prototyping or manufacturing equipment; exposure to laser systems or additive manufacturing is a strong plus.Basic programming skills (ideally G-code or similar); experience with Python or automation scripting for equipment control or data analysis is a plus.Basic knowledge of GD&T fundamentals.Interest in advanced technologies such as laser micromachining, microfabrication, additive manufacturing, and precision process development.Comfortable working with CAD/CAM tools and with basic manufacturing or process engineering concepts.Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of troubleshooting issues independently with strong problem-solving skills.Able to learn new equipment quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative technical environment.Fluent in English, with strong technical communication skills.This is a great fit if you:You enjoy hands-on work with cutting-edge equipment and precision manufacturing.You want to develop expertise in laser processing, microfabrication, and advanced prototyping.You like solving practical technical challenges and contributing directly to product development.You thrive in fast-moving environments where you can learn quickly and have impact.This won’t be the right role for you if:You prefer purely theoretical or desk-based work.You are not comfortable working hands-on with machines in a lab/production environment.You prefer highly rigid processes instead of iterative prototyping workflows.You are not interested in learning new technologies or adapting to evolving equipment capabilities.You cannot work on-site in Lausanne
