Cloud-Hybrid Database and Application Administrator

Job DescriptionYou will be part of a global, evolving and dynamic team of database administrators. As part of this team and based in Geneva, you will have both regional and global responsibilities. We are looking for someone who can fill in this unconventional role, straddling both traditional, on premises databases and also being an important player in our cloud ecosystems. If this is you or you have a vested interest to upskill yourself in Cloud database setup and administration, coming from a more traditional DBA background, we would like to hear from you.Main duties and responsibilities:Ensure deployment, support and being accountable on-premises and in the Cloud on the following areas: Databases hosting & infrastructureDatabases Administration & SecurityOracle middleware productsCTRM (Commodity Trading and Risk Management platform) and Analytics applications: installation, critical business process monitoring and business & developer supportSupport and interact with teams across infrastructure, security, network and applications both regionally and globallyDocument standards and follow proceduresMonitor and manage databases and Unix equipment WWPerformance TuningDesirable Personal attributesTeam player (both locally and as part of a worldwide team) with an open, direct, nonjudgemental styleProactive and always thinking ‘improvement’ to bring further efficiency to both business and technical data flows.Takes ‘ownership’ of outcome and is comfortable in a fast-paced environmentFlexible and ready to work long hours when required and also the occasional week-end workCan work independent and report to his managerQualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in similar or equivalent position with the following requirementsHands on Oracle Databases v19+ included knowledge in DataGuard, Pdb-Cdb, RMAN, RAC, Monitoring (OEM), ASM & Performances tools & optionsDatabases hosting and Operating Systems : Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux in a standalone & Cluster environment, on-prem or in CloudStrong experience with the following Oracle Middleware products:OGG: Oracle Golden Gate ( data replication, Zero Downtime maintenances)Oracle VeridataOUD: Oracle Unified DirectoryDMU: Data Migration UtilityOracle Lifecycle Management PackStrong experience in managing and supporting Databases and Services in Public Cloud-hybrid Environment (AWS, OCi,… )Experience in Database infrastructure environment : Oracle Sparc, HPe servers and NetApp Storages and Oracle Engineered SystemsExperience in automation using shell and Python scripting to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.Experience in orchestration and scheduling using Prefect and Active BatchProven ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement mitigation strategies.Strong analytical skillsExcellent communication skills in English, both written and spokenAdditional Information Nice to haveDatabasesPostgreSQL / MariaDB / MySQL / MongoDB / Redis / Influx & SnowflakesDesirable: Cloud DB: DynamoDB / S3 / Redshift / AuroraOracle Forms Application serversDevelopment PL/SQLExperience in automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet etc.
