Reporting to the Manager, Sensory & Consumer Fragrance Testing Program, you will get to work with many partners from R&D and Marketing teams, to ensure our fragrances and skincare products have the potential to delight consumers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be supporting R&D and marketing teams, providing sensory performance measures and insights for all Coty fragrance & skin care brands and their competitors (Luxury and Consumer Beauty divisions). The data from this group is used routinely:
By the Product Development and Marketing teams in the development phase and in the approval of final prototypes. By the Technology & Innovation teams in the understanding of the effect of technologies on product perception and performance. By the Fragrance Design and Marketing teams to feed a global fragrance library with consumer dataYou will be working together with the Consumer and Sensory Science Team, as well as Technical Perfumers, Evaluators, Technologists and Product Developers with the end goal to develop consumer delighting products that are superior, characterful, distinctive and technically performing.
Specifically, this includes:
Owning the testing phase by executing sensory tests: developing protocols where needed and documenting those in the Sensory Quality Manual, preparing samples , designing tests, creating sensory sessions on an appropriate software, mastering lab techniques. Owning data reporting: analyzing data with adequate statistical methods, writing sound and scientifically accurate reports, communicating results and findings to test requestors. This also means registering data in the sensory Performance databases, ensuring consistency of data, identifying gaps, and making sure to fill them. Owning trained external panelists' management : screening and selecting new panelists, monitoring panelists' performance, organizing adequate training, registering attendance and being responsible for panelists' retribution with temp agency . Owning data analysis and reporting of the fragrance testing consumer program .Working at Coty means building brands to inspire and enable our consumers to experience the confidence and joy of expressing their beauty. The Consumer & Sensory Science team consists of 10 people, from different generations, nationalities spread over two continents, and you will work closely with several departments such as Claims, Product Development, Technology & Innovation teams etc... All your team colleagues are focused on results and supporting each other's to achieve their goals.
YOU ARE A COTY FIT
You like to have an interest in fragrance and skin care products. As an experienced Sensory Consumer Senior Scientist, you demonstrate a high level of team spirit but also strong ability to work independently and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:
Scientific background – Master's degree in Sensory and Consumer science – Biology or Chemistry or equivalent. Min. 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, most preferably in the cosmetics industry. Good statistical knowledge (univariate and multivariate), proficiency with XLSTAT or similar tools. Excellent software skills, mainly Excel and Powerpoint. Analytical mindset with capacity to manage different activities at the same time. Pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter. Able to set priorities, respect deadlines. Strong ability to engage with a varied audience, to federate panelists, to maintain motivation to minimize turn-over. Fluency in French and English. Experience with one of the standard Sensory packages ( Compusense, Fizz, EyeQuestion ).As our Sensory Consumer Senior Scientist, some of the benefits you will receive are:
