Description

AsSenior Manager Transport & Customs,EMEA, you will oversee customs and freightoperations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Due tocompany growth, this new role was created to enhance supply chainagility and efficiency. Based in Basel, you will lead a team,ensure compliance with customs regulations, optimize freightoperations, and align logistics strategies with businessobjectives. The role reports to the VP SCM & RE andinvolves travel within EMEA.

  • Develop andimplement a customs and freight strategy aligned with companyobjectives.
  • Develop and streamline dailyoperational.
  • Optimize freight operations,reduce costs, and enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulationsacross EMEA.
  • Lead and develop a team ofspecialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Negotiate with freight carriers, customs brokers, andlogistics providers.
  • Maintain strongrelationships with stakeholders and authorities.
  • Implement and improve technology solutions for customsand freight management.
  • Drive continuousimprovement to enhance efficiency and service levels.

Profile

Thesuccessful candidate should hold a BSc degree in engineering,business, or a related field and have more than 10 years ofrelevant experience in a comparable environment. Proficiency inEnglish is essential to effectively fulfill leadershipresponsibilities.

In order to settle in the roleat the best capacity possible the successful candidate shall have astrong track record in logistics and transportation within similarindustries. Additionally;

  • Extensive experience in customs, transportation, andlogistics.
  • Strong understanding ofinternational trade regulations and freight management.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managingdiverse teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communicationskills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong proficiency in German; fluency is aplus.
  • Additional language skills are anadvantage.
  • Willingness to travel within theEMEA region.
  • Strong planning andorganizational skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience with customs and transportation managementsystems.
  • Aviation or technical knowledge ispreferred.
