Über den Job Stellenbeschreibung Zur Unterstützung unserer Technologieabteilung in der Advanced Materials Division suchen wir einen Praktikanten im Bereich Data Science. Die Position ist ein 6-monatiges Praktikum und befindet sich in unserem Advanced Materials Innovation Center in Basel (Schweiz). Ziel dieses Praktikums ist es, die digitale Transformation innerhalb der Technologieabteilung von Huntsman Advanced Materials zu unterstützen. Der Praktikant wird in einem multidisziplinären Team arbeiten und zu mehreren Wissensmanagementprojekten beitragen. Ihre Hauptaufgaben als Data Science Praktikant werden sein: Zusammenstellung und Analyse experimenteller Daten aus archivierten Projekten zur Nutzung in Data-Science-Initiativen mit unserer ELN-Software und Skripten. Aufbau, Pflege und Optimierung von End-to-End-Datenpipelines, die Daten aus mehreren Quellen in die unternehmensweite Generative AI Plattform erfassen, einlesen und verarbeiten. Entwicklung, Prototyping und Test von LLM-basierter Architektur und agentischen Systemen zur Verarbeitung großskaliger strukturierter und unstrukturierter Datensätze. Zusammenarbeit mit einem multidisziplinären Team zur Übersetzung domänenspezifischer Probleme in rechnerische Lösungen (z. B. Abruf, Ranking, Schlussfolgerungen etc.) im Bereich Chemie und Materialwissenschaft. Unterstützung bei der Automatisierung manueller Prozesse & Dashboards. Teilnahme an Code-Reviews und agilen Entwicklungszyklen. Dokumentation von Datenverarbeitungsskripten, Daten-Workflows und Erstellung technischer Berichte. Anforderungen: Mindestens Bachelor-Abschluss oder eingeschrieben in einem Master-Programm in Informatik, angewandter Mathematik, Ingenieurwesen oder Statistik. Starke Programmierkenntnisse in Python; JavaScript ist von Vorteil. Vertraut mit LLMs, Vektordatenbanken und Konzepten des Prompt Engineerings. Vertraut mit Cloud-Service-Plattformen (z. B. Azure). Grundkenntnisse in Web-Entwicklungsframeworks und SQL. Grundkenntnisse im maschinellen Lernen sind von Vorteil. Starkes analytisches Denken und Problemlösungsfähigkeiten. Leidenschaft zu lernen und eine kooperative Einstellung. Fließend in Englisch.
