Implementing & Evaluating new ML Models for Sheet Metal FormingIn this internship, you will have the opportunity to review, implement, and evaluate the latest machine learning models in the realm of process engineering and manufacturing. The nature of this position is inherently experimental and exploratory: you will dive into state-of-the-art neural network architectures, adapt them to our unique context in process engineering, and assess their performance against the real-world needs of our customers.You will collaborate closely with a dedicated product team while also receiving guidance from ML engineers through regular meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions. In addition to researching and refining advanced ML approaches, you will occasionally contribute to the broader ML product lifecycle. Should your models prove successful, they may be integrated into our final product or prototype, offering a tangible impact on the cutting-edge solutions we deliver. Your tasks Review the state-of-the-art methods and models applicable to our domain and present them to the teamImplement these models in a prototypical manner in Python and PyTorch, train them on our own custom datasets, and evaluate them. Adapt them to our needs with hyperparameter tuning or architectural modificationsSupport the product team in various ways by contributing to the end-to-end ML lifecycle (e.g. data generation, pre-processing, creating experiment pipelines, etc.) Your profileMaster’s degree (or in the process of obtaining one) in computer science, data science, or engineeringVery good programming skills in Python and familiarity with at least one of the common machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAXHaving at least one ML project under your belt that goes beyond the scope of small lecture projectsKnowledge of modern neural architectures, especially in computer vision & graphics and 3D geometry would be a plusStrong technical interest, willingness to get involved in complex technical issuesTeam Player with a strong commitment to problem solvingGood knowledge of English required.
