What you'll doWe are seeking an Digital Hardware Engineer to reinforce our Lausanne Hardware team. As a key team member, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team of hard-working and passionate individuals developing groundbreaking satellite communications system technologies. You will design highly reliable digital and mixed-signal electronics that meet the required functional specifications, considering electrical, size and weight constraints. The day-to-dayIn collaboration with your project team members, you fully own the whole development cycle of electronic boards · Design, develop, test, optimize and integrate highly reliable digital and mixed-signal electronics for Space phased array antennas. · Drive requirements, architecture and circuit design, component selection and procurement, PCB design, board bring up, testing and design + manufacturing documentation. · Collaborate within multidisciplinary team (system, antenna, hardware, mechanical, radio frequency and control engineers) · Optimize BOM cost What you'll needYou are a meticulous, open-minded and well-organized person, motivated to perform multiple tasks in a wide-ranging environment. You enjoy taking ownership of the agreed work and completing it autonomously. When needed, you easily ask for support from our multi-disciplinary engineering team and collaborate with external partners. Great teammate, problem solver and hands-on engineer, you never hesitate to take the extra step for the team to succeed · MSc or equivalent, in electronic engineering or a related field · 5+ years of proven experiences in the high speed digital hardware for space applications · Good understanding of: · Architecture definition · Digital electronics and high-speed (multi-gigabit) interfaces · Experience testing and verifying high speed digital designs through to production and release · Schematic capture and PCB design tools. Knowledge of board schematic tools, Altium · Experience using various test equipment – oscilloscope, digital analyser. · Strong documentation skills and ability to report on technical solutions and findings · Team player What will help you on the job· Experience in FPGA Design Tools (Vivado, Quartus...) · Experience with Hardware Design Languages (VHDL, Verilog...) · Strong Knowledge on DSP and FPGA implementations · Strong knowledge of PCB simulation tools Ansys SIwave · Experience with microcontrollers or FPGAs. #LI_EMEA EEO StatementViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
