S. commodity trading and marketing firm , is seeking aHead of Quant Tradingto lead the expansion of its quantitative and systematic strategies across power, gas, and broader European energy markets.This is a senior-level role offering full ownership of strategy design, build-out, and team leadership — ideal for a commercially-driven quantitative leader looking to shape and scale a modern trading function within a well-capitalized and entrepreneurial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead thedevelopment and deployment of systematic and hybrid trading strategiesacross U. S. commodity markets (power, gas, oil, emissions, and related products).Build, mentor, and manage ateam of quants, researchers, and data engineersfocused on alpha generation and advanced analytics.Collaborate closely withdiscretionary traders and risk managersto bridge quantitative insights with commercial execution.Drive the use ofdata science, machine learning, and market microstructure modelsto enhance signal discovery and trade optimization.Partner with technology leadership toenhance data infrastructure, model libraries, and low-latency execution systems.Overseerisk management frameworksand ensure robust model validation, governance, and backtesting processes.Key Requirements8–15 years of experience inquantitative or systematic trading , ideally within U. S.power, gas, or broader commodities.Proven track record ofalpha generation and P&L contribution.Deep understanding ofU. S. market structure(PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, NYISO, CAISO) and short-term trading dynamics.Strong programming and modeling expertise ( Python, C++, or similar ) with hands-on experience in data-driven research environments.Advanced degree (MSc/Ph D) inApplied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Quantitative Finance.Demonstrated leadership capability — able tobuild and scale high-performance teamsin a front-office environment.LocationLocation not specified in the posting.CompensationHighly competitivebase salary + performance bonus + participation in strategy P&Lfor the right profile
