Job Details We look for skilled and experienced pattern maker to join our dynamic VETEMENTS design and development teams that translates design ideas into product. Interpreting Designs: • Analyze fashion sketches, technical drawings, or samples. • Understand construction and styling details. 2. Drafting Patterns: • Create initial paper or digital patterns from scratch or modify existing ones. • Use CAD software or manual methods. 3. Developing Blocks: • Build basic pattern blocks (slopers) to serve as a foundation for different styles. 4. Pattern Grading: • Adjust patterns for different sizes while maintaining proportions and fit. 5. Prototyping & Sampling: • Collaborate with sample makers to create prototypes. • Make necessary adjustments after fittings. 6. Fit Sessions: • Attend fittings with models or mannequins. • Identify and resolve fit or construction issues. 7. Technical Specification: • Prepare or review tech packs with detailed pattern specs, seam allowances, and measurements. 8. Marker Making (if applicable): • Arrange pattern pieces for efficient fabric use, especially in bulk production. Collaboration Tasks 1. Working with Designers: • Consult to ensure patterns align with design vision and practicality. 2. Communication with Production: • Provide accurate, production-ready patterns. • Adapt patterns to manufacturing constraints. 3. Quality Control Support: • Ensure that production samples match the approved prototypes. 4. Fabric and Material Knowledge: • Adapt patterns based on fabric behavior (e.g., stretch, drape, shrinkage). Analytical & Problem-Solving Tasks 1. Solve Construction Challenges: • Modify designs for better wearability or easier production. 2. Ensure Consistency: • Maintain consistent sizing and fit across styles and collections. 3. Evaluate Feedback: • Analyze fitting or production feedback and implement changes accordingly.
