Über den Job We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English and German speaking person, educated as a Special Needs Teacher (Heilpädagog:in), with a long experience in working with neurodivergent children (5 – 20 years). You have seen a lot in different educational approaches and see neurodiversity not as a disability, but as a different development path than most people expect, the more deserving to be nurtured and supported. Probably you are looking for the space to breathe to support those children and have not found that in overall schooling environments you have worked in. You will be the key, hands on, person interacting with the children, but will also be the educational expert heading this approach. You will be supported for all non-educational topics by experienced management. In this role, you will work with students who have a variety of learning paths, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets their unique needs. You will be responsible for developing individualized education plans (IEPs), assessing student progress, and collaborating closely with parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students. The students develop themselves in groups of maximum 6 children, guided and teached by 2 professionals. Your ability to communicate effectively in English and German is essential, as you will be working with diverse learners from various backgrounds. The ideal candidate will possess not only the skills necessary to adapt and modify lessons but also the compassion and understanding to foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students with a neurodiverse profile, helping them to achieve their educational goals and build confidence in their abilities. If you are committed to making a difference in education, maybe even change the world for neurodiverse children, and have the qualifications we seek, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position. The international Learning Group is a young initiative, of which you can stand on the very base. It is however backed by a solid organisation guaranteeing long term growth of this initiative. Responsibilities Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning. Train and support classroom aides or teaching assistants working with special needs students. Utilize various instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse learning styles. Monitor and document student progress and behaviour, providing feedback and recommendations. Clarify explanations when necessary to ensure understanding. Lead the educational responsibility of this initiative. Key person in hiring additional colleagues, building the team. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Certification in Special Education or relevant teaching qualifications. Fluency in English and German is essential; knowledge of additional languages is a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience (preferably much more) teaching students with special needs in an educational setting. Neurodiversity is for you not the stereotypes from the book, you have seen and felt all diversity real life. Strong understanding of various educational hindrances and blockades and related teaching strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to develop creative and flexible lesson plans that meet individual learning needs. Benefits A strong salary reward. Work and living in a fantastic environment close to Thun, Switzerland with view on the Alps. A unique chance to make your personal touch with neurodiverse children possible. Mission Statement of International Learning Group At International Learning Group, we believe that every child is a unique learner deserving of a nurturing environment that celebrates their individuality. Our mission is to create an inclusive, neurodivergent-friendly educational experience where children aged 4 and up can thrive in small, supportive learning groups of no more than six. As the world is predominantly using English as language to bridge international interaction, we believe in a bilingual education including English. We are committed to fostering a community where all children, including those with special needs, feel valued, understood, and empowered to explore their potential. Through personalized educational experiences, collaborative play, and a focus on social-emotional growth, we inspire curiosity and resilience, ensuring that every child's learning journey is joyful and fulfilling. Together, we cultivate a foundation for lifelong learning, acceptance, and friendship. A personalized learning journey for every child.
