Job DescriptionThe Computational Accelerator Physics section (BE-ABP-CAP) develops and maintains CERN's software ecosystem for accelerator design and beam-dynamics simulation, providing the tools and models that drive machine performance and future upgrades. In this role you will directly contribute to the development an evolution of these tools. You will collaborate with the maintainers of accelerator model repositories to ensure their consistency and interoperability, and create new computational methods to model physical phenomena relevant to future collider design, such as the FCC-ee. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of accelerator physics, scientific software development, and large-scale simulation, driving the design of next-generation accelerators at CERN. Your responsibilities Participate in the development and evolution of the CERN software stack for accelerator design and beam dynamics simulation. Develop numerical methods and software solutions for modelling physical phenomena relevant for FCC-ee design. Build and maintain accelerator models of current and future machines comprising the CERN accelerator complex, to be used in simulation studies and design optimisation. Collaborate with users and maintainers of accelerator model repositories to ensure consistency, integration, and efficient sharing of resources. Your profile Experience : Experience in Accelerator Physics and software development in a scientific computing context. Experience in developing computation physics simulation software following good practices is an asset. Motivation to work at the intersection of novel accelerator design s and simulation tools. Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary and international team environment. Skills: Knowledge of accelerator modelling and beam dynamics simulation tools (e.g. Xsuite, MAD, SAD, ...). Programming skills (Python, C) for code development and data analysis. Familiarity with numerical methods and scientific computing tools.
