Senior System Engineer - Linux Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Zurich Area (Hybrid) We are collaborating with one of Switzerland's top universities to recruit a Senior System Engineer - Linux who is eager to contribute significantly within a dynamic and agile ICT environment. Your Role Manage and continuously enhance a resilient Linux server infrastructure, both on-premises and in Azure Cloud Ensure operating system security, and oversee selected database and web server components Design and maintain container platform infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) integrated with CI/CD pipelines Administer logging systems (Elastic Stack) and assist with integration into security operations (SIEM) Develop and optimize monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Icinga) in partnership with ICT teams Lead automation efforts using SaltStack and various scripting languages Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and agile ICT teams to support ongoing digital transformation initiatives Your Profile Degree in IT or equivalent professional experience as a Linux System Engineer Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure technologies (e.g., BIG-IP, Elastic, Icinga) Skilled in automation and configuration management tools Solid foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, reverse proxy) Familiarity with storage systems (e.g., NetApp) is advantageous Service-oriented mindset with a strong emphasis on innovation and quality Strategic thinker capable of translating operational requirements into practical solutions Strong communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders Experienced in agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban Proficient in both German and English (spoken and written) If this opportunity excites you, don't hesitate-apply today
